About Me

Nik Layman is a producer, photographer and videographer who has developed commercial and artistic projects for such clients as UAB Health Systems, Mercedes Benz, Alabama Power, Kulture City, the Birmingham Museum of Art, PNC and Regions Bank for 17 years. 

A Montevallo, Alabama native, Nik is a UAB graduate who specializes in telling stories and delivering a message with sensitivity and boldness.

Nik has been featured multiple times in bMetro magazine and has photographed events such as Birmingham Fashion Week, The Heart Ball, Art on The Rocks and the Museum Ball. In addition, he has photographed Birmingham native and WBC Heavyweight Fighter Deontay Wilder’s title fights.

In working with the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center, Nik has photographed performers such as Jeff Goldblum, Magic Johnson, Al Pacino, Lindsey Buckingham, John Legend and Steve Martin.

Currently, Nik resides in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife Angela King Layman and their Havanese puppies, Chewie and Jabba the Pup.
